| Once again, for being a cultural festival episode the beginning of this episode is slow and doesn't seem to use the concept at full potential... Kyon's classmates act like open perverts, he at least has some dignity even in front of Mikuru in a maid outfit (and sorry Tsuruya, i always thought it was just a average costume with nothing that stands out), after all of this Kyon randomly decides to address directly the audience with "i'll just enjoy the events like a normal student" staring into the camera like Yuki Suou some months ago (but 18 years before), enters the auditorium passing in front of a filming woman for some reason, and... ...for once, rain turns out useful, convinces more people to enter the same place, ENOZ (well, half of the actual members) begin playing, and the rest of the episode is FIRE. God Knows... i'm out of words for this song, and staying in topic i can't know any more how many times i've listened to this before in 15+ years or played it for Clone Hero like i was Haruhi or Nagato (bass part is cool too). Haruhi's turning her back from the cheering audience like she feels embarrassed to have become emotional... ...I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Rejoice, Kyon... admit it, you're enjoying this too. At your place, i would f......g crowd surf and it still would be a extremely out of character moment (oh, well, i actually did at a concert in late 2017). Even the ending is wonderful, it's just so refreshing to watch this character development going on for the Goddess, suddenly all humble and genuinely happy for having helped someone in a moment of need. And the scene under the tree... damn. Just... focus on a possible music act and don't film a movie sequel, got it? Two more episodes... saving the ending for New Year's Eve once again, it deserves it. without Haruhi his life would be just so boring, lol that's what I think at least YEAH. |

| I just witnessed PURE CINEMA Thanking myself by going in blind, with all this bullshit episode order, but after seeing it for the first time 5 years ago, I finally got to watch GOD KNOWS within the episodic glory. When Haruhi, Yuki, and ENOZ walked into the stage, and when the moment of realization kicked in instantly, my jaws dropped to see one of the most iconic scenes in anime history played in front of me. God Knows, performed in the Haruhi way, is one of the best songs in anime lore. Post-glaze clarity sure is a devil, and just before I'm snapped out of it, Haruhi is already planning her next operation in hand, she sure needs to learn how to appreciate the present from time to time. (also that John Lennon cameo before God Knows started, well appreciated by a Beatles fan) |

| Chronological Episode 12 Endless Eight (1) I wanted to watch this sooner, but I just couldn't find the time. Funny. So here it is. The Endless Eight. Can't tell if the ratings are for EE or the OG broadcast episode 12. Either way, it seemed like a good episode. It felt like a montage of a bunch of different Haruhi episodes. But I can easily see it being annoying if it's the exact same thing repeated over and over for 8 weeks straight. Even if it's shown from a different angle, it's still a scam. One weird thing I noticed was when Kyon (funny how the OP also just says Kyon) was having an internal thought, Haruhi responded to him as if she could hear him. The new OP was great. But it doesn't really compare against the first OP like with most anime. Same with the ED. Overall, it was still a very fun episode. The animation was smooth. You can tell even from the voice acting that this was done a few years later. Can't wait to find out how bad EE really is. |
