Back from the break. And, we start with Higuruma's character. A very loved character, even in the manga as well. So, I'm not surprised how hyped up his appearance would be for his fans in the anime, finally, after all these years. And, he's such an interesting and amazing character. Reggie Star's first appearance in the episode.

Itadori's school days and how he has always been that kind of guy were nice to see. Megumi, on the other hand, will now have to face Reggie while Itadori confronts Higuruma. The iconic Kashimo panel was in the episode as well, which fans were missing in the previous episodes. The buildup is so intense for these upcoming episodes. The way they are building up tension is chef's kiss. DOMAIN EXPANSION!!! And Kenjaku is doing his own shenanigans. LOL

The first episode of the Season without the director Goshozono handling the Storyboards. But the assistant director, Takada, stepped up, and what a spectacle it was. Incredible work. And, on top of that, it was Mr. Kouki Fujimoto's Solo KA for the entire episode. He's making up for his absence in the Second Season. I love it. The episode felt like watching a mini-movie. Such an incredible episode. Probably my favorite episode of the season. One of the best, if not the best episode yet.

Absolute Cinema.

Higuruma giving Nanami vibes working in a professional setting and his desire to help others. Plus, becoming cynical later. And I think Sugita as seiyuu is an awesome pick.

This episode was too good.

I knew this episode would be great, but I didn't expect it to be this great. As a Higuruma fan, I couldn't be happier. 10/10

I used to think that this lawyer is the same guy as the one that keep giving Toji missions. But it doesn't matter if they're the same guy or not, at least it doesn't matter to me. As this piece of work looks less likely to be a proper anime and more likely to be MAPPA's portfolio.

@phantomfandom How in the world You thought Shiu Kong was Higuruma? XD Aside from the fact that they're not very similar, the time period and the jobs they do don't really connect. What they have in common most is a suit.

So only Megumi was tricked. Interesting to see a little backstory on Higuruma and the guy who led Yuji to him.

The episode went by so fast and ends just as it was getting good.

Absolutely perfect adaptation of Higuruma's backstory and introduction. I really don't think they could've done it better.

We all stand with Oe. That 99 percent conviction rate with the Japanese police is accurate and it’s mainly because as this episode shown, the prosecution have more resources, also accused don’t have the same protections they do in the west.

They can detain you for very long periods of time to the point it’s just in your best interests to confess and get out, also they only pursue cases with very high likelihood of a conviction. Lastly, judges are often pressured. Fuck the Japanese legal system. The irony of this is Higurama falls into the same thinking by protecting a broken system in the culling games.

@Jollyne7 they also look similar to Atsuya Kusakabe LOL but you can't blame me because other characters are so unique, like a panda or something, so these three salaryman-style guys look the same to me.

That was really awesome to see Higuruma’s technique/shikigami and how he awakened his technique, It’s been a while since we last Domain Expansion in the anime. The whole law associated technique is really cool. It was interesting to learn how he awakened his Jujutsu Sorcery because I didn’t realise you could do it at a later stage in life especially with Jujutsu High School existing so I thought everyone awakens the sorcery around teenage years but it’s very interesting to see that it can also be awakened later in life because Higurama was 30.
Well, also now we know who was lying and Megumi was betrayed but then it’ll be interesting to see them battle and see what happens with the scorpion girl and chicken looking guy. I just know that next episode is going to be peak!
I’m relatively new to the fandom and just recently caught up to the show although it’s painful having to wait for the next episode to drop it’s well worth the wait!

I love how they handled the official introduction of Higuruma, giving us his backstory and some characterization so we can get to know him before seeing him in action during the Culling Game. And it needs to be said once more, Tomokazu Sugita being his VA was an outstanding casting decision.

this is an addition to the list of Solo Key Animated episodes that exist in the anime industry but in my bias sake i gotta say it got overhyped for what is simply an origin story and not action scenes. much so with the use of rotoscoping. wish that praise of a solo key animated episode could transfer to what Takeshi Maenami did in Yaiba: Samurai Legends but noone gives a fuck about it as much

anyway, jujutsu kaisen and higuruma, he seems nice of a character who logically feels out his cases properly as a lawyer but is just whacked with frustration from the justice system. I don't think there's really any negative to him accepting their proposal unless he has a rule of his own he'd like to add. if he doesn't want the culling games to end he can just stay in it but yuji is just terrible at negotiating/persuading so he just resorts to just punching it out. Hopefully higuruma's co-worker didn't get caught in his killing spree of the judges.

@phantomfandom Ah yes, I forgot about Kusakabe. He's more fitting because he's closer in age to Higuruma. But yes, Higuruma has such a distinctive nose that you should be able to recognize him just by his nose. XD

Another great episode! I've always loved Higuruma, and it's wonderful to see how well he was respected in the adaptation. The calm before the storm, Higuruma vs Yuji and Reggie vs Megumi next week gonna be fun.
Meanwhile, Kenjaku allows himself to wander around a bit, when I was reading the manga, each of his appearances made me so happy lol that's still the case.

Higuruma's backstory was well adapted here I have to say (as well as the animation of his domain expansion being a courtroom vibe), his presence in the episode were decent. Basically reminded me of Ace Attorney in a way and how it came to be given most cases there leaned towards 'guilty before innocent' that you have to overcome. Rest was kinda meh and the Culling Game is still ridiculous to me, but this wasn't a bad episode at least.

wtf does that mean?

we got higuruma flashback, and i think this man is really close to be insane or he already is insane

i did know that one of those side characters ( the ballhair girl and the yellow hair guy ) was trying to lie or maybe both, and yeah looks like the girl was trying so hard to lie and she did succeed

after that we get the conversation between higuruma and itadori, and tbh i didn't understand a single thing, it feels like higuruma js spitting words he himself doesn't know wtf he is talking abt

but i do think i got a thing from the fushiguro's conversation and the guy that idk what is his name, i do think he was really trying to say that kenjaku is trying to kill all the curses users? like i do really see it making sense, killing all the ppl that are strong and can really make him struggle

5 / 5 I'm really interested in watch the next ep

The rotoscopic animation was so fucking insane. I loved it.

So Hiromi was just a lawyer, who apparently awakened as a jujutsu sorcerer in court after losing a case he desperately wanted to win. That loss pushed him over the edge emotionally, leading him to awaken not only as a jujutsu sorcerer, but one with a Domain Expansion as well. Goodness.

I also have to point this out, picking Tomokazu Sugita to play Hiromi Higuruma was honestly the best decision they could've made. All I hear is Gintoki Sakata from Gintama, but all I see is Hiromi, haha. Jokes aside, I love Tomokazu Sugita. I'm really glad he got a role in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Putting Tomokazu, Hiromi, Gintoki, and Gintama aside, it turns out the liar was the black-haired lady. Thank god the blond didn't backstab Yuji. I disagree with Megumi's "we're wasting time" comment, because I think taking out the liar would be the best use of their time, especially since he already said he would do it. I hope he actually follows through in the next episode, you shouldn't go back on your word, Megumi, you'll lose face.

Let's goooooooo! Higaruma is here! They adapted his story in the beginning perfectly! and then we got the first DE of the season!

Also we got Itadori in middle school lol beating people up like that. Those kids probably got cracks in their skulls ngl.

at the same time we also got Megumi vs Reggie. Interesting talking about how Kenjaku gathering CE whatever might just be a plan B or C or whatever. Then that image of dropping a bomb holy and Kenjaku talking to some people.

The stage is set! Hyped to see the next episode!

This shit is so weird.

The first part feels so out of place. But man the Higurma backstory cooked so hard. Literally felt like a movie.
Anyway after kinda of shit he saw specially the last one whatever war crimes he commits fully justified.

And then second half decides to fry the brain with more theory and speculation but why bomb lmao..

Masterfully directed episodes. Everything was on point with his intro. I do think that the direction this show's got is 1.000.000 times better than what this type of manga deserves, but I am still in awe and fascinated how they told his origin story (no hate on the manga btw). Easily top 5 episodes this show had so far, no cap. Also, I am happy that this shit is going to have a full adaptation, the lucky few. Maybe after they finish milking it, they are going to start sucking on their second cash cow, Chainsaw Man.
